Choosing Xonez for a Modern Web Design Project

I was working on a redesign for a boutique online store last week, and I found myself stuck on the typography. The client wanted something that felt fresh, bold, and aligned with their brand’s creative identity. That’s when I stumbled upon Xonez. It immediately caught my eye as a display font with a unique edge.

Xonez has this cool, trendy vibe that feels modern without being too edgy. The letters have a slight slant and some subtle geometric details that give it character. It’s not overly stylized, so it doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to stand out. That makes it perfect for digital projects where you want to add personality without distracting from the message.

I started by testing it in the hero section of the website. The headline read “Discover Handcrafted Goods,” and I placed it over a full-width image of the store’s latest product line. At first glance, I wasn’t sure how it would look against the background, but once I adjusted the contrast and added a semi-transparent overlay, it worked beautifully. The text stood out just enough to draw attention without overwhelming the visual content.

One thing I noticed early on was how well Xonez performed on mobile screens. Even at smaller sizes, the letterforms remained legible. That’s crucial for any web designer because we know users often consume content on phones. I made sure to test it across different screen sizes and even used a responsive font sizing technique to keep it consistent.

Xonez isn’t just about headlines. I also experimented with using it for section headings and call-to-action buttons. For example, the “Shop Now” button had a slightly lighter weight of Xonez, which gave it a friendly, approachable feel. Pairing it with a clean sans-serif font for body copy created a nice balance between creativity and readability.

When designing a landing page for a course sales page, I found that Xonez worked especially well for short phrases and key selling points. It helped reinforce the idea of a premium, high-quality product. The font didn’t feel too casual or too formal—it struck the right tone for a professional yet creative brand.

Font pairing is always an important consideration, and I paired Xonez with a simple sans-serif font like Open Sans for body text. This combination kept the design clean while allowing the display font to shine in key areas. It’s a common practice in web design to use one decorative font for headlines and a more neutral font for body content, and Xonez fits perfectly into that strategy.

Another thing I appreciated was the range of styles available. There were variations in weight and alternate characters that allowed for subtle customization. This flexibility made it easier to adapt the font to different sections of the site without repeating the same look everywhere.

I also checked the licensing options before finalizing the design. Since the project involved a client who needed commercial use, I made sure that the font had proper licensing for websites, digital templates, and branded assets. This step is essential for any designer working on client projects or online stores.

Using Xonez also helped improve the overall brand consistency. The font’s personality matched the client’s visual identity—modern, adaptable, and confident. It contributed to a more polished online experience, making the website feel cohesive and professionally designed.

For those considering Xonez for their next project, I’d recommend testing it in various contexts. Try it in headers, buttons, banners, and even as a decorative accent. It’s versatile enough to work across multiple platforms, from landing pages to social media graphics.

In the end, Xonez became a key part of the redesign. It added a layer of sophistication and creativity that the client loved. Whether you're building a portfolio site, a coaching platform, or an e-commerce store, Xonez can help elevate your design and make your brand stand out in a crowded digital space.
